For example, some of the most influencial people are on twitter such as Stephan Harper (pmharper). You can make connections on linkedin through friends of friends by being able to see which companies they work for and their job titles. Another great way to network is to join online groups. Dont be afraid to ask an online contact how they started or for job search tips.

You need to gain international experience over time to truly develop them.
