Use Technology to Network
This is a day and age where people are only a click away. There is no limit to the contacts you can make and the opportuinties it will open. For example, some of the most influencial people are on twitter such as Stephan Harper (pmharper). You can make connections on linkedin through friends of friends by being able to see which companies they work for and their job titles. Another great way to network is to join online groups. Dont be afraid to ask an online contact how they started or for job search tips.
